Frankfurt/Ratingen. At the “ISH 2009” in Frankfurt, Keramag AG presented a varied complete bathroom programme with sophisticated design appeal and excellent comfort and usage options. “Silk” (designed by code.2.design) offers elegant, timeless form language and an especially high level of design flexibility for superior private bathrooms with ceramics and bathroom furniture items in the upper category. Special elements with extra use features make the new series ideally suited to the needs of the 50+ generation.

The design of sanitary products focuses consistently on exploring the design appeal of solid and fine elements. The centrepiece and form-giving element in this series is the seven-piece washbasin range (57, 60, 80, 100 and 120 cm), facilitating a variety of individual design options and now also available in the 38 cm hand-rinse basin with the tap hole on the right-hand side.

All washbasins have softly rounded edges and have generous storage areas at the back reaching over the sides and tapering to a narrow edge at the front. The sunken back area ensures that the products have a high degree of lightness. This effect is supported by a lightly angled exterior contour and flat interior basin, accentuating the shell like character of the washbasins. In larger models, the side storage surfaces are proportionately more heavily accentuated. This corresponds to the width of the entire product and emphasizes the interplay of solid and finer detailed components. The 120 cm washbasin is primarily designed as a double washing area. The 57 cm asymmetrical washbasin is especially eye-catching with spacious storage areas to the right and left. In combination with the matching piece, this model has an unusually appealing look. The 60, 80 and 100 cm versions can also be combined with a formally matching half-pedestal.

Alignment of exterior contours of the WC and bidet models with the appearance of the washbasin creates an extremely harmonious overall look for the entire ceramics programme. The 6 l WCs are available as wall-hung wash-down or wash-out models. A special feature is the 3 cm raised seat position that makes it easier to stand and sit. The WCs are fitted with seats that have an automatic soft-closing mechanism. Exterior surfaces of the WCs are completely smooth and therefore especially easy to clean. Upon request, the ceramic products are supplied with the dirt-resistant ceramic glaze “KeraTect”.

“Silk” includes a comprehensive bathroom furniture programme. It comprises washbasin plates in 60, 80, 100, 120 and 140 cm width in high quality “Oak” or “Wengé Pangar” genuine wood veneer with a wraparound chrome-look strip. Matching wall-mounted vanity units as well as side and tall cabinets are also available. A suitable vanity unit with open and closed storage space is also available for the new hand-rinse basin. The 140 cm wide washbasin plate also offers the possibility for an asymmetrical, 60 cm wide vanity unit as storage space, giving contemporary features. Additionally, below the washbasin area, there is plenty of foot and leg room while sitting. An upholstered stool on castors with two adjustable heights is also available.

The washbasin vanity units are also available in “white high gloss” as well as genuine wood veneer. Side and tall cabinets are revolving and fitted with shelves. The tall cabinet has a mirror inside the door and an integrated light strip.

In combination with the matching, high-quality bathroom furniture, the series offers plenty of scope for additional uses. The washbasin plates with a projection of 47 cm are ideal for storing all kinds of bathroom items. The optional combination with towel holders – at the side and at the front in the facing – facilitates integration of further comfort functions.

An extra highlight is the “beauty module”, which can be installed flush with the washbasin plates, and is available in the same finish as the plate and also has the wraparound strip. An integrated, illuminated mirror is visible when folded upwards. The lower part offers space for make-up accessories. A further intelligent feature is a WC module with storage and stowing space for moist wipes and toilet-roll holder. Additionally, a storage area made from the mineral-based material, Varicor, is available for the shower area. The accessories programme is completed with an illuminated mirror with chrome frame in sizes 44, 60, 80 and 120 cm. The 44 cm mirror has a side light strip. All other illuminated mirrors have two light stripes positioned at the side, anti-steam function and indirect, upper and lower coloured lighting.

An exclusive bathtub (200 x 90 cm) with concealed overflow beneath integrated cushions as well as panels in genuine wood veneer with integrated drawer completes the programme. Matching shower trays and partitions in various dimensions of the Sanitec subsidiary Koralle complete the product portfolio.
