Frankfurt/Ratingen. Keramag is bringing a breath of fresh air to public and commercial sanitary areas. “KeraFresh” is a patented freshening system, unique to Germany, which is integrated into the flush chamber of the urinal, invisible from the outside. Hygiene sticks, placed here, ensure that fragrance is released into the urinal with every flush, causing a detergent foam to form.
The system ensures a pleasant room environment, which is not nec-essarily par for the course in larger installations, and is a hygienic, appealing alternative to conventional odour blocks, which are hung in urinals in inserted plastic sieves or with small plastic baskets. These solutions frequently cause urine splashes, which can have unpleasant consequences. Above all, it is understandable that cleaning personnel (for aesthetic reasons) do not enjoy changing such blocks.
On the contrary, replenishing the “KeraFresh” sticks is completely clean and hygienic, without any contact with the inside of the urinal. All that is needed is to use the special wrench provided to open a stainless steel lid at the top of the flush chamber. The replacement stick is then placed in the dosage chamber and the lid is closed again. This theft-proof technology prevents unauthorised access.
The vandal-proof “KeraFresh” system will be available from spring 2011, initially for the “Renova Nr. 1 Plan” series’ urinal, for a purchase price of €65. With the first delivery, the system already includes two “KeraFresh” sticks. The replacement sticks are offered in packs of 40 units. This translates to a stick price of just €0.67. The sticks are replaced by the cleaning personnel after several thousand flush cycles. It is not necessary to have a maintenance contract. This produces considerable operating cost reductions for operators of sanitary installations in comparison with previously conventional fragrance containers in front of the wall and the frequently concluded maintenance contracts. And: in the case that no replacement sticks are available, the urinals still function without any problems as a matter of course.
The replacement sticks are supplied exclusively through the specialist sanitary trade.
