Frankfurt/Ratingen. Keramag AG has extended its successful “Renova Nr. 1 Plan” range. The series which was introduced in 2005 as an extension of the “Renova Nr. 1” bathroom range in rectangular design has been equally consistently and continuously expanded. Alongside an attractive bathroom furniture range and many different types of washbasins for the private living area, the series was extended last year by adding attractive undercounter washbasins for non-residental washing areas. Products were introduced for both areas of application at the ISH 2009 in Frankfurt. Newly shaped WCs with matching WC seats and bidets, a hand-rinse basin with matching vanity unit as well as two innovative urinals complete this comprehensive range. The hand-rinse basin (45 x 32 cm) closes the last gap in the range. A matching 39 cm wide vanity unit with white, wenge or ruby coloured doors is available. There are new vanity units now available for the 50 cm washbasin and the 45 cm hand-rinse basin. The vanity unit is available for this model with a door or drawer. With this, there are now vanity units available in all three colours for all of the basins from 45 to 130 cm width.

The wall-hung washdown and washout WCs as well as the bidet have been given a “facelift”. The shaping of the sanitary objects has been more strongly aligned with the rectangular design of the washbasins. Matching WC seats with automatic soft-closing mechanism are also available on request. In this way, an optimal design from one source is available for private bathrooms as well as sanitary rooms in public and commercial buildings. Moreover the washdown WC helps to save water. It can be flushed with 4.5 / 3 litre and has therefore a consumption which is 25% lower than a normal 6 litre washdown WC.

Alongside the undercounter washbasins, newly designed urinals are available for heavily frequented toilets. Their design is also modified to match the washbasins and provides a universal, modern look for the restroom. Two versions are available. Water costs can be lowered considerably with the touch less electronic urinal flushing systems “Flushcontrol 500” for battery operation or “Flushcontrol 500 N” for mains operation which can be operated with a flushing volume of only one litre. The running costs, due to ever scarcer resources, are becoming more prominent when trying to let a building. Analogue to this urinal there is another variation available; this can be operated without water and increases the saving potential.

With the intelligent draining technology of the waterless urinal, no sealing liquid is required, something that also makes cleaning and maintenance easier. The strikingly simple and effective solution is a rubber odour trap. A type of hose opens when pressure is created by a liquid being introduced into it. When this pressure stops, it closes immediately. If the system is closed no smell can escape from the waste water channel. No special cleaning substances or techniques are necessary. In terms of maintenance and care, there are no differences compared to other urinals. The water flushed variations can be fitted with a cover and are therefore suitable for private areas.

A further advantage of the new “Renova Nr. 1 Plan” urinals is their ease of assembly. Fitted with the patented fixing system “Kerafix”, they can be exchanged for “any” old models. Their dimensions have been designed in such a way that they cover the connections present and are therefore suitable for exchange without high alteration or renovation costs as the tiles and walls are not damaged in the process. Both variations pay from themselves in a short period of time due to the water savings.

As Keramag product manager Dirk Pruß mentioned in Frankfurt, the attractiveness of this universally applicable range has been increased. This is due to the modernisation of the design of the WCs and the bidet as well as the introduction of the urinals, not only for the public/commercial area but also for the private area. All sanitary objects are optionally available with the special ceramic glaze “KeraTect” and are available from summer 2009.
