Essen/Ratingen. 4Bambini is the name of the new play and wash landscape developed by Keramag especially for use in nurseries. It comprises a wash trough which can be used by children of different heights at the same time. At SHK ESSEN, the manufacturer also presented its current product range aimed at this group, including washbasins, WCs and a basin for baby care.
4Bambini is manufactured from the mineral material Varicor, which is particularly durable, hygienic, easy to clean and pleasant to the touch. The 1,800-mm-wide and 415-mm-deep wash troughs do not have an overflow, but four tap holes and two plughole fittings instead. Two versions are available comprising either right- or left-hand gradation. Matching wall consoles are also provided. The set is supplied with the option of two plughole valves and a new four-web valve (incl. 100 mm standpipe). A longer U-bend is also available to enable problem-free connections. The range also includes a plexiglas divider with integrated holes which – when positioned between the two basins – acts as an overflow. This divider can be removed in order to demonstrate the flow behaviour of water to children. The white Varicor landscapes can be combined with front and side trims in blue, red or yellow. The trims complete the harmonious overall look and enable colour coordination for various groups of children, as well as cover visible connections underneath the water landscape. Matching taps in a child-friendly design are also available. The sensor technology is specially designed to recognise children’s hands and has a reaction time of less than half a second. The design language and its loving attention to detail particularly appeal to little ones. Taps are available either in battery-operated or mains-operated versions.
In Essen, the manufacturer summarised the ergonomic and user-specific system benefits as follows: ‘With 4Bambini, we have reached a new level in terms of creating user-friendly sanitary facilities for nurseries. The product sets benchmarks in terms of encouraging children to learn about body hygiene in a playful way, as well as teaching them how to handle water. This is also evident in the product’s description as a play and water landscape. The concept of four wash places at two different heights is ideally suited to children of varying heights. The wave design at the front not only symbolises water movement, but also makes it easier for children to reach the taps. The rounded shapes and corners minimise risk of injury. The unique taps are an additional visual highlight and will quickly become a cult object, just like our Kind WC with lion paws.’
