Essen/Ratingen. With the iCon bathroom range (designed by co-de.2.design), the focus of Keramag AG’s trade fair appearance at SHK ESSEN was on an exceptionally versatile bathroom range. It comprises a comprehensive series of washbasins, which each come with a matching wall-hung WC and bidet, a floor-standing washdown combination, bathtubs and shower trays and a modular furniture range, helping customers to create their own personal dream bathroom. The range is designed with an urban lifestyle in mind and is positioned in the medium price segment.
All washbasins have a simple, timeless and modern shape and are characterised by straight external contours, organically flowing inner basins and spacious storage space. The washbasins are available in four sizes (60, 75, 90 and 120 cm), and the range also includes a double washbasin (120 cm) with two basins and two asymmetrical washbasins (50 and 90 cm) in right- and left-hand versions. At the rear of the wider side of these basins, there is a recess in the ceramic which contains a decorative tray. The wash place looks particularly attractive when fresh flowers are arranged in the tray. As well as its decorative function, it can also be used for practical purposes. When filled with a little water, it is perfect for rinsing a razor. It can also provide a safe place to store jewellery that needs to be removed while washing. The colour of the tray corresponds to the colour of the furniture and forms an appealing contrast to the white ceramic. For guest bathrooms, the range includes a 38-cm hand-rinse basin with tap hole to the right or left, as well as a corner washbasin with a side length of 32.5 cm.
The WCs and bidet continue the organically flowing inner contour of the washbasin and form a contrast to its severe external geometry. The WC seat is available with a soft-closing mechanism. All ceramic items are available in Alpine white and can be provided with the KeraTect dirt-repellent surface finish on request.
Combining the sanitary objects with matching bathroom furniture in the high-gloss trendy colours Alpine, burgundy and platinum gives a new bathroom a highly personal feel. The drawer elements (60, 75, 90, 120 × 24 cm), vanity units (60, 75, 90, 120 × 62 cm), tall cabinets (35 × 180 × 30 cm), sideboards (45 × 60 × 89 × 47 cm), illuminated mirror elements (60, 90, 120 × 75 cm), shelves (60 and 90 × 16.5 cm) and a mirror cabinet (35 × 150 × 30 cm), which are all perfectly coordinated in terms of their shape and function, provide large amounts of storage space and plenty of shelf space. They also form the basis for experimenting with new ways of grouping the furniture. In this respect, iCon offers a host of interpretation possibilities in a sophisticated style: as well as timeless and modern versions, skilful design using various levels, colours and projections make it easy to realise an unusual and extravagant look. Innovative looks include combining a mirror cabinet and sideboard that is level with the ground, or combining a drawer element and sideboard. Additionally, the lighting strip for the illuminated mirrors, which comes pre-installed on the centre axis, can be adjusted to shine to the left or right before it is installed. This creates a highly personal touch, especially in combination with matching shelves either alongside or below the mirror. The furniture items can be combined in an unusual way, which makes the overall design and effect of the bathroom sparkle in completely new ways.
The range is completed by matching bathtubs and shower trays. The rectangular acrylic bathtubs are available with plughole at the foot (170 × 75 × 45 cm) or in the middle (170 × 75 × 45 cm, 180 × 80 × 45 cm, 190 × 90 × 45 cm) and the oval bathtub (180 × 85 × 45) also has a middle plughole. The generous depth of the bathtub gives an all-round feel-good factor. The square shower trays measure 80 × 80, 90 × 90 and 100 × 100 cm, the rectangular models 100 × 80 cm and 120 × 90 cm and the rounded corner version 90 × 90 and 100 × 100 cm. Thanks to a rim measuring just 3 cm, they can be installed at floor level and are particularly comfortable to use as they do not have any high edges.
